Ben has been a consultant ecologist since 2011. Mostly working in the field for a variety of consultancies he has accumulated a great deal of knowledge and survey experience. Ben’s main area of interest is mammals and he has survey experience with most European Protected Species found in Scotland (bats, badgers, pine marten, otter, water vole, mountain hare, red squirrel, wildcat and wildboar). Birds are also a specific area of interest.
Ben has a NatureScot Protected Species license for Otter and will soon have one for bats. He is also a keen amateur writer.
