Bowland Ecology Ltd have been commissioned by Natural England to undertake a range of Common Standard Monitoring (CSM) for qualifying features for a range of Sites of Special Scientific Interest in the North of England. This is to inform an updated condition assessment of the site as part of the government’s 25 year environmental plan and environmental improvement plan, in which all SSSI’s must have an updated condition assessment by 2028. The results will allow Natural England to undertake a Common Standards Monitoring (CSM) (JNCC, 2008) condition assessment of the site and help to advise on future management strategies. Assessments include invertebrate assemblages, breeding bird assemblages and habitats.
